NO POVERTY
'NO POVERTY is a 1st Sustainable Development Goal lined-up by the United Nations as envisaging 2030.
More than 700 million people, or 10 per cent of the world population, still live in extreme poverty today, struggling to fulfill the most basic needs like health, education, and access to water and sanitation, to name a few. The majority of people living on less than $1.90 a day live in sub-Saharan Africa. Worldwide, the poverty rate in rural areas is 17.2 percent more than three times higher than in urban areas.
For those who work, having a job does not guarantee a decent living. In fact, 8 per cent of employed workers and their families worldwide lived in extreme poverty in 2018. One out of five children live in extreme poverty. Ensuring social protection for all children and other vulnerable groups is critical to reduce poverty.
Kiranja Leadership Foundation (KLF) has designed all of its works to promote social justice and contribute to the improved living standards of majority community members by conducting economic empowerment for women and youth, enabling effective women and youth participation in leadership and decision-making bodies which aims to improve health systems, education systems, housing, water and sanitation, environmental protection and household economic improvement in Africa hence promote poverty alleviation and realization of SDG #1.

GENDER EQUALITY
'Gender Equality' is a 5th Sustainable Development Goal lined-up by the United Nations as envisaging 2030.
Gender equality is not only a fundamental human right, but a necessary foundation for a peaceful, prosperous and sustainable world. Unfortunately, at the current time, 1 in 5 women and girls between the ages of 15-49 have reported experiencing physical or sexual violence by an intimate partner within a 12-month period and 49 countries currently have no laws protecting women from domestic violence.
Providing women and girls with equal access to education, health care, decent work, and representation in political and economic decision-making processes will fuel sustainable economies and benefit societies and humanity at large.
Hence Kiranja Leadership Foundation (KLF) is committed to economically empower majority adolescent girls, young women and young people with disabilities, catalyse their aspirations towards participation into leadership and decision-making process in Tanzania community so that to create within our communities an Equitable Generation.

DECENT WORK AND ECONOMIC GROWTH
'Decent work and economic growth' is a an 8th Sustainable Development Goal lined-up by the United Nations as envisaging 2030.
A continued lack of decent work opportunities, insufficient investments and under-consumption lead to an erosion of the basic social contract underlying democratic societies: that all must share in progress. Even though the average annual growth rate of real GDP per capital worldwide is increasing year on year, there are still many countries in the developing world that are decelerating in their growth rates and moving farther from the 7% growth rate target set for 2030. As labor productivity decreases and unemployment rates rise, standards of living begin to decline due to lower wages.
Sustainable economic growth will require societies to create the conditions that allow people to have quality jobs that stimulate the economy while not harming the environment. Job opportunities and decent working conditions are also required for the whole working age population. There needs to be increased access to financial services to manage incomes, accumulate assets and make productive investments. Increased commitments to trade, banking and agriculture infrastructure will also help increase productivity and reduce unemployment levels in the world’s most impoverished regions.
Kiranja Leadership Foundation (KLF) is dedicated to improve youth economic wellbeing in Tanzania, link them with available economic opportunities and networks which will enable them to increase their income and upgrading their living standards, eradicating women dependency rate to men, reducing economic gap between rural and urban communities, women and men in the society and improving household daily earning as the women and youth attain their economic freedoms.

'Youth Participation for Sustainable Development'
PEACE, JUSTICE AND STRONGINSTITUTIONS
'Peace, Justice and Strong Institutions' is a 16th Sustainable Development Goal lined-up by the United Nations as envisaging 2030.
The threats of international homicide, violence against children, human trafficking and sexual violence are important to address to promote peaceful and inclusive societies for sustainable development. They pave the way for the provision of access to justice for all and for building effective, accountable institutions at all levels.
While homicide and trafficking cases have seen significant progress over the past decade, there are still thousands of people at greater risk of intentional murder within Latin America, Sub-Saharan Africa and around Asia. Children’s rights violations through aggression and sexual violence continue to plague many countries around the world, especially as under-reporting and lack of data aggravate the problem.
Kiranja Leadership Foundation (KLF), in partnership with the local government authorities and other development stakeholders, is dedicated to promote youth and children protection, community peace and harmony through conducting media advocacy with local community radios, facilitating empowerment sessions with social and community development authorities, and also conducting dialogues with marginalized community groups to address cross-cutting socio-economic and political issues which may cause radicalization and violent extremism so that to build in our beloved Tanzania community a resilient-based society.
